Haircuts for American football players: It’s not often we get to see NFL players with their helmets off but many of the players heavily invest in their hair, as they should. This list contains players that play from teams all over the United States showcasing the talent barbers have across the nation.

10. Jason Kelce

Jason Kelce has gone from a college walk-on at the University of Cincinnati to an All-Pro Center in the NFL. He’s one of the best drafts picks in recent memory as Philadelphia got him in the 6th round. He has been selected to multiple pro bowls in his career and has a Super Bowl victory.

Like his brother, he has the speed to go along with his size as he ran a 4.89 at the NFL combine as a center. He currently has an endorsement deal with Old Spice as they try to push male grooming products like beard oil.

9. Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes was the second quarterback taken in the 2017 NFL Draft after the Kansas City Chiefs moved up from spot 27 to spot 10 and traded with the Buffalo Bills…ouch. He holds the record for most passing yards in the NCAA in a single game (734) and most total yards in a game (819).

He’s currently in his second year of the NFL but is poised to make the Pro Bowl and be an All-Pro, as he is recognized as being the most talented Quarterback in the NFL currently. Mahomes is biracial giving him tight curly hair that has bounce. He keeps it long on the top blended into a beautiful bald fade. Since his hair stands up on its own he has a natural wide mohawk.

8. Cameron Wake

Cameron Wake is a 5 time Pro Bowler and has made the All-Pro team as an undrafted free agent that spent time in Canada where he wreaked havoc on that league and has many accolades as well. When he signed with the Miami Dolphins he took the league by storm in his first year exploding with games where he had multiple sacks.

Over his career, he’s had variations of the same haircut. He keeps it medium length on the top with a disconnected fade. Sometimes you’ll see him with graphics, but his haircut has been consistent over the years.

7. Tyrann Mathieu

Tyrann Mathieu was an integral part of the vaunted Arizona Cardinals’ defense while Bruce Arians were the coach. Named the honeybadger in college due to his ferocious playing style, he was a turnover machine while scoring touchdowns as a special teams returner.

Many projected him as a top-10 talent in the NFL draft, but due to off-the-field issues was drafted in the third round of the draft as a steal. He rocks blonde dreadlocks with an undercut on the sides. The dreadlocks hide the details on the shaved sides, but it’s more than likely fade.

6. Richard Sherman

Richard Sherman has been one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL for a long time. He was a part of the vaunted “Legion of Boom” which is one of the best secondaries in NFL history. He’s a Super Bowl Champion, 4-time Pro Bowler, and 3-time All-Pro. He’s known as one of the smartest players in the NFL and graduated from Stanford.

During the 2011 draft, he was the 25th cornerback taken and was known to be furious as he what he felt was inferior talent being taken before him. He has very well-kept dreadlocks that he’s been growing for years. They give him a unique and intimidating look, and as a defender, he doesn’t have to worry about anyone pulling on them during a tackle.

5. Julian Edelman

Julian Edelman plays with his hairstyles often and will go from having a very short top with bald faded sides and also growing out the top with high fades. He’ll also grow the beard out changing the profile of his face. Edelman was a 7th-round pick by the Patriots and did not start right away.

It took a few years for his career to take off, and he got an opportunity when Wes Welker left the Patriots. Edelman was effectively his replacement as they have similar strengths as receivers relying on quickness, toughness, and strong hands while going over the middle. He’s won two super bowls but has never been in the Pro Bowl. He’s an integral piece to New England’s offense and is a favorite target of Tom Brady.

4. Michael Thomas

Michael Thomas has emerged as one of the best Wide Receivers in the NFL. A great rookie and sophomore season, his third year he’s on pace to have over 130 receptions. He made the Pro Bowl in 2017 and is likely to do it again in 2018 along with All-Pro Status.

He’s got one of the cleanest fades you’ll see on anyone and always has something unique going on top. It’s perfectly blended. His barber cuts the hair of many NFL talents.

3. Travis Kelce

Travis Kelce has been on fire as Patrick Mahomes has been slinging the ball all over the field in Kansas City. He’s a 3 time Pro Bowler and an All-Pro Tight end and is the younger brother of Jason Kelce who is also on this list.

Travis also had his own reality TV show on the E! network where single women competed to date him. He usually sports a disconnected undercut with faded sides and keeps it long on top. He recently shifted to getting rid of all the hair on top and keeping the fade.

2. Odell Beckham Jr.

Odell Beckham Jr. is one of the top Wide Receivers in the NFL and has broken many records in his short career putting him on pace to have the most receptions and yards of any receiver if he keeps up the pace. Beckham changed football when he made the epic one-handed catch behind his head that has now started a one-handed catching craze you’ll see around the college and NFL ranks as it’s become standard for elite receivers to have the ability to catch the football with one hand.

He can also be credited with starting the trend of different-colored hair on top with short sides. Prior to his wearing this hairstyle, you didn’t really see it much and it was something unique he had.

1. Antonio Brown

Antonio Brown was not recruited highly out of High School and went to Central Michigan. He was drafted in the 6th round by the Pittsburgh Steelers and competed for the fifth spot on their depth chart. He was primarily a return specialist with blazing speed and quickness.

When he got his opportunity he seemed to come out of nowhere and took the NFL by surprise. He’s since been a mainstay putting up monster numbers. He’s been named to several Pro Bowls and named first-team All-Pro multiple years but has not won a Super Bowl yet. His haircuts are difficult to describe but they always look clean, and fresh, and have unique designs.
